Do You Ask?

We recently held parent-teacher conferences at Laurelville.  I enjoy having the opportunity to meet with parents who are eager to see their child succeed in school.  I noticed that I seemed to be repeating the same sentence in many of those conferences, “He (or she) needs to ask questions if they are having difficulty on his/her assignment.”   When students don’t ask questions, I assume that they get what they are supposed to be doing.  This isn’t always the case!

So, that made me begin to wonder, Why don’t students ask questions of the teacher or seek help when they need it?    Do YOU ask questions if you don’t understand something on an assignment?  If so, why do you?  If you DON’T ask questions, why not?  Think about your answer to this question, and please respond honestly. There are no wrong answers here, I’m just really curious to know what keeps students from asking questions!  I’ll make a prediction that many of you share the same reasons!

Fall Fun!

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year.  There is just something about the cooler days, the fall colors, and the falling leaves that I just love.  These things remind me of the many things that I look forward to this time of the year.  Are there things that you enjoy and look forward to doing in the fall?  Playing football or going to football games?  Playing soccer?  Going to the Pumpking Show?  Getting ready for hunting season?  Seeing family and friends over our Pumpkin Show break?  Tell us what you enjoy doing this time of the year and why.
