World Maths Day started at 6:00 am this morning!  By 8:00 this morning, Mr. McGuire’s classroom was filled with 19 fifth graders who arrived early to get in the game!  WooHoo!

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and 5th and 6th graders at Laurelville will have the option this year to send a Valentine Chocolate-gram to someone for Valentine’s Day for just $1!  Beginning next Monday, Feb. 7, students can go to Mrs. Walter’s room at the beginning of their recess to purchase a chocolate-gram!  For $1 you can choose a candy bar to send to someone for Valentine’s Day.  You will be asked to fill out the “TO” and the “FROM” (you can either put your name, or something to remain anonymous, like “your friend” or “a secret admirer” or “your STUDENT”.)  On Friday, Feb. 11, the chocolate-grams will be delivered during our short and “sweet” Valentine’s Day party (2:45-end of day).  Get your money ready…chocolate-grams will only be sold while supplies last!!
