Finally, we’re back!

Finally, we are back to school.  🙂  The students were a little tired today, they must have stayed up to watch the Super Bowl!  I was surprised to find out that there were still many who did not have power as of this morning.  I hope it’s back on for them tonight.

I hope you are checking out the blog.  I’ve been making some changes, hopefully improvements, over the days that we were off.  Please check in regularly!

Today we picked back up with solving equations with the PEMDAS order of operations.  We also reviewed Path Length, something that we discussed back in October.  I am always so pleased at how hard working this bunch of fifth graders are!  After 9 days off, a teacher usually counts on a day just to get the students back into the swing of things.  Not necessary with this group.  Each homeroom started working as if we were working on order of operations yesterday!  GREAT JOB, 5TH GRADE!

Congratulations to the following students who completed 20 Study Island questions today with 100% accuracy:  Justin Glasspoole, Jacob Allison, Hannah Hopkins, Cody Knapp, and Andrew Sowers!  Having problems with order of operations?  These students could definately help!  Way to go!
