TODAY is the day!

Get your calculator fingers ready and start working math problems!  With the different time zones, the World Maths Day challenge actually started at 6:00 this morning!  I guess New Zealand is AHEAD of us in time because it is already March 4 in New Zealand!

So start working problems.  You will be participating in an event that includes 1,575,000 students from 26,000 schools representing over 200 countries!  Good luck!

I came back to school today (I had a meeting in the morning) and one of the first things students approached me about was their latest accomplishment on the World Maths Day challenge.  How exciting to be a math teacher and have students coming to tell me that they have answered over 1000 math questions correct!  (or more in many cases AND during their own time)  I am so glad to see them so excited about  this challenge.  No doubt that their math fluency is improving!
