Benefits of Blogging

There are many benefits of blogging.  I could go on and on about the educational benefits of blogging and having students blog.  Instead, I’d like to tell you about my favorite benefit of blogging-connecting with people from all over the world!  Where else can you learn about different places, cultures, and people-and actually get to make a personal connection with them?

I recently had the opportunity to do this with a student from Australia. I was reading some blogs in the Student Blogging Challenge, and I came across Dawso’s Blog.  Our original connection was our shared love of chocolate, but I also was a little intrigued about Netball.  I asked Dawso about this popular sport in her country and she was kind enough to write a post explaining it for me.  If you would like to know a little more about this sport, check out her post by clicking here.

Thanks, Dawso, for taking the time to explain and for making this world seem a little smaller-one blog at a time! 🙂
